I find that a deviation has been made from the approved cross-section of the Tramway in the construction of a portion of the double line in Queen's Road East opposite the gate of the Naval Yard and for some distance on either side of the same. The deviation consists of the omission of a strip of concrete surfacing about 3' 4" in width and 6" in thickness, bet- ween the two lines of rails.

Unless I receive an assurance in writing from you, within 3 days from the date of this letter, that work will be carried on in accordance with the approved cross-section and that the omission complained of will be remedied, I shall take such steps as I may be advised to restrain you from proceeding with the work.

I trust you will render it unnecessary for me

to adopt this course by giving me the assurance asked for.
